We're building an online, interactive, veterinary ECG library that you can use for education, research, and more.


ECG procedure is a very important diagnostics tool for heart diseases - and still, it’s not used enough in veterinary practices. 


One of the best ways to extend knowledge of ECG interpretation is by looking at examples.

There are great textbooks and a few websites that provide veterinary ECG examples and that’s all good and well but we felt there’s room for improvement.


When looking at examples in a textbook few issues come up:

  • Not enough examples - sure, a few dozens of ECG cases are very valuable but why not look at a few hundreds of examples?
  • The book is showing you the exact time frame of the problem - in real life, you get a full ECG strip and not just one problematic frame
  • Images are static - when looking at an image you can’t adjust the paper speed, the amplitude, there’s no interaction with the waves


That’s why we are building a library of veterinary cases, which you can view online with our interactive ECG viewer. Using the viewer you can perform sweep/gain adjustments, measure intervals using digital calipers, apply filters, and more.


Here’s an example of a dog with atrial premature complexes from our library:

You may change paper speed, amplitude, time position, perform measurements - exactly as you do with real cases. You can see there’s a big difference from looking at a static ECG image.

Using the viewer you can analyze and interpret the data, in the same way as you would use it with Beecardia's ECG solution.


In addition to showing the ECG data, you can see the case metadata such as breed, weight, age, etc. We're currently providing a small preview of our library. In the full library, you will also get a list of events relevant to that case (APC and LAE for the case above) and we show the ECG interval measurements and MEA.

In fact, you’ll be able to search the library by the metadata. So, for example, you can get all of the cases with cats that suffer from ventricular bigeminy and have HR > 180 BPM.


The library will include many cases which you can use to improve your ECG interpretation skills, teach your students, or perform research.
